Hi,

I don't want to spend more than $250, with my goal to keep things under $200.

What resolution monitor should I be looking for that will not strain the 6800?

Can this card do the 1400X1050 or 1680X1050 without breaking a sweat, if not how about sticking with the old 1280X1024?

Also, when scrolling, using scroll bar on my browser with this card, text is hard to read, harder than with other cards using same monitor, is there any way to fix this?

Use windows cleartype? set the sharpness bar up a notch?

Im using a 22inch, and the 6800GT @ultra speeds is taking quite a hit when playing games like F.E.A.R. Quake4 was alright (20~60fps depending on the location) at 16x10, 4xAA 8xAF high quality and all settings maxed out.

Using a 6800GT at Ultra speeds. Shader intensive games tend to slow the card down at 1680x1050. I just turn down some shader effects and it gets pretty smooth.

For light photo editing, internet, and TV, I don't see why the 6800 Ultra would be a problem though. 2D is going to be a lot easier on the card than 3D at that res. Only when I run games does the card really show it's age. Otherwise it's not a problem. I do photo editing and watch the occasional HD movie with it and it's just fine.
