I had this celeron 1.1A in my P3V4X. I have an Upgradeware Slot-T adapter and the cpu & adapter are fine but the PSU blew out & took the mobo with it. :(
I have tested the cpu in another system, it's fine. ;)
What I'd like to know is what old slot 1 mobo can I get that will treat this cpu right. I also have a P3 1.26 in another system (Asus CUSL2-C) and it's very happy. :D
I don't need a tualatin mobo because I have the adapter, so what mobo are people using for these and what works best?

Thanks Oldfart, I was kind of hoping you would reply on this ;)

I don't need any onboard goodies, I have an old video card & a good sound & lan cards here so I just need something that will power up a celeron 1.1A and run it as overclocked as possible :D

Only thing is the AGP will be way out of spec @ 90 MHz. Some video cards will not work @ that speed.

well, that's a good point - I have a piddly little tnt2 video card, I know the geforce2 cards can go with the higher agp bus but the tnt2 probably not :(

Get a newwer socket 370 card with the Via chipset that can handle the 133 bus speed better. I have used MSI's model, and SHuttles when over clocking 1.1A's or 1.0A's, they are getting hard to find. ASUS had a model too. Why deal with the converter when you do not have to? Get your AGP up to 4X, and at the proper speed, and you can then go wild on your overclock.

Plus the get all the fun of playing with the VIA chipset........4 way interleave etc etc:)

Good Luck:)

Got a mobo model in mind Danstp?
I guess I was just thinking slot 1 because I already bought the Slot-T adapter.
Maybe I could sell it and go that way though. ;)

The other direction is to just part out whats left here and go with an AMD mobo & a nice 1700 tbred b and OC the snot outta the thing :D

I'm in the same boat here, I have parts everywhere and a Slot T, but haven't found a deal on a Celeron (pref. 1.4) yet. The wisest choice would be to start selling parts and go the 1700+ route for $44, but thats also the hardest thing since you have to sell everything for a few bucks, then find a deal on an AMD board to make things work out.

Yeah, there's a lot of P3b's on fleabay but I don't know how well that would work out with my vid card.
