What Mobile Video Card? GeForce II 2 GO?

Ok I want to get a Laptop, But If I get a New one I want to get the best Mobile Video card.

I know that the stock 4-8MB video cards suck.

Out of these which is the better

32 MB GeForce II 2 go

or

32 MB ATI Mobility Radeon

The GF II 2 Go is a Dell I8100 Click Tech Specs, Scroll down to graphics cards and select Learn More
and
The ATI is a Compaq 2700 Click the 2700, Then select more info, And click the video card.

Is the GeForce II 2 go better than the ATI because I can get the same specs on the Compaq as the dell excpet for the video and the Compaq is still about $400 cheaper.

well the Dell 8100 is really NICE, the screen is huge, 1600x1200 if you buy the UltraXGA. The Geforce2 GO performs slightly better, but its not earthshattering or anything...Dell's also have a better reputation

The fastest mobility graphics chip known is by ATI. I makes NVidia's look awful. If you can find something with the Radeon7500 mobile chip you are looking at a great system.

I agree with AA0, the Radeon Mobility is much faster. However, the Dell laptop is far better than the Compaq.

just to clear up any confusion, the current mobile radeon that is shipping in current labtops is not the same as the new radeon 7500 that actually beats the geforce 2 go. I think geforce 2 go is about 30-50 percent faster then the current mobile radeon in 16 bit color. In 32 bit its probably not much faster.

You are correct. I did confuse the Radeon Mobility for the Radeon 7500. Thanks for the clarification.
