I used to own a StarTac myself when I was studying in the States. It's a great phone, I love it!

Probably nothing.

Yours is for Sprint PCS (in the US I assume), mine is for Clearnet PCS in Canada.

Except for the little bit of programming that controls which network it attaches to, and the fact that mine has CLEARNET written across it, they are probably the same phone.

I saw that a couple places...like when I went to Rogers and then to Telus they had the identical motorola phone, only one was like the 8768 and one was the 8778 or something like that.

Why own more than one phone? s this a american thing? I own just one, Nokia 7110. More interesting question would be: "what mobile-phones have you owned?".

In my case it would go something like this (all phones digital GSM):

Bought Nokia 1611 in 1996
Bough Nokia 5110 in 1998
Got Nokia 6150 from work in early 2000
Bought my current phone in september 2000

I think I'll hang on to this phone for a while. I will replace it with a 3G or GPRS-phone.
