hey guys,

I plan on building this system

The issue is which ram to use. At stock the 3000+ runs at 1.8ghz and I want atleast 2.2ghz
I am really interested in running the Corsair but am wary on the stress ill put on it, if it can get me to 2.2 with dividers.

-Amd 3000+ venice
-Epox 9npa ultra
- Patriot XBLK, OCZ Plat. Rev 2, or Corsair vs
-MSI 6800gt or x800xl
-xp-90 92mm panaflo
-Fortron Bluestorm
-some 80gig sataII

Just get whatever that's cheaper. Of the patriot, ocz plat, corsair, the ocz plat ain't aint on samsung tccd anymore, but for sure the corsair 3200XL's are still tccd, not too sure about patriot though. If you wanna spend on expensive ram and wanna overclock with dividers you can also get OCZ PC3200 Gold, they're cheaper than the ones you listed. Run that at 250 with a 9:11 (333) divider will get a fsb of about 204 at 2-2-2-5 timings.

Thats the mobo with the 3.1 volts on the Vdimm right? If that is so, then I would get OCZ value vx. Can do around 210-220 FSB with 2-2-2-5 timings at 3.1 easy, and that will help you maneuver to get the max overclock. For example, if your venice will only do 2.54 GHZ and won't go up anymore, then you can run the 2:3 divider and move HTT to 320. That will set your memory to 213FSB still at 2-2-2-5 timings. Then you can move the multiplier to 8 and get an overclock of around 2.54, which is what you want.

By comparison, with corsair value select, you can only get to 2400 MHZ or 2700MHZ without decreasing your FSB.
