i want to overclock, but i dont know which memory i should use. ive heard that corsair xms, kingston hyperx, and i read in this forum that twinmos memory works really well too.
which one should i use? also, does the 8rda+ support pc3000?
If you're looking to run in dual channel configuration, TwinMOS is great.. Corsair will work well also. HyperX might have some issues when running dual channel.. I've heard of many people having problems with those modules.
Yes the 8RDA+ can take pc3000 and pc3200.. just not officially 🙂
Don't get HyperX. It's only perfectly stable at 2.5-3-3-6 on my MSI K7N2-L...and that's with 2 sticks of 256mb HyperX PC3000 running at ONLY 266mhz! It seemed stable at 2-2-2-5 until I tried looping 3DMark overnight. It would exit to the desktop after a while. 2-3-3-6 did the same thing, but it took a few hours.
I sold the system in my sig locally last Friday and ordered new parts from Newegg. I'm getting an Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0, Corsair 512mb TWINX XMS3200LLPT (2x256), and a Barton 2500+ 😀
