What memory type?

For the life of me I can't figure out whether this PC takes 184-pin or 240-pin memory. It is a free PC that is a few years old but I can't find any information on the Motherboard.

MSI MS-7283 Version 1.0 running an AMD 3800 (I think Dual Core) and Windows VISTA. It has a PCI-E slot if that helps to determine it's age. The MB also has N1996 on it.

The wizard at http://crucial.com will tell you what memory is needed.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I looked it up at the Crucial and they did not have the MB I have listed. Anyone else have any ideas?

If it has Vista on it, i assume that means a functional OS, which means many different programs can be used to determine this.

CPU-Z?

Is there RAM in there now you can look at?

Is it a pre-built?
Actually, i already know it's a prebuilt, as the mobo is obviously a made-for-OEM one.

What's the PC's model name/number, or did you only get parts of it?

cpuz will run in vista and will tell you what kind of ram you have in the machine. It's free and it will tell you lots about your machine.

He seems to think its 240-pin DDR2:

If he needs to resort to that, it's easier to just see where the notch is. DDR2 has the notch closer to the middle.

Is this it? If so, it's DDR2, 240pin.
