What memory to use with Intel Pentium D 820?

So I have my retail edge package, using the Intel D945PSN board. Which memory should I use with it? Is there any benefit of useing 667 with 4 4 4 12 timings if I don't overclock? As far as I know there isn't since the FSB is 800mhz.

Should I just use low latency 533?

HELP :)

If the motherboard fully supports DDR2 667 you should be able to utlize it without overclocking, there should be a setting that lets the mem run at it's rated speed. Otherwise just stick with the 533. Either way, hope yours doesn't run as hot as mine, mine is water cooled now, cause it was running at 71c with a better than stock heatsink.

I'm using 2x512 PQI value DDR2 533 with mine. My board actualy supports 667, but didn't know that till after I already got the ram. Works perfectly fine though.

Does anyone have teh OCZ Gold series DDR2 PC 5400 2x512mb memory with their Intel D945PSN right now?

Anyone using 667 in dual channel on a D945PSN? What latency and brand?

What's wrong/up with your board brucewayne?? D945PSN officially supports PC2-5400 and it should have an option for RAM latency adjustments. BTW, I am using D945GNTLKR with OCZ Value RAM 1G(single channel, no need to waste money on second channel, especially with Celeron D now), PC2-4200 on default timings of 4-4-4-8.

Unless you are planning to upgrade to faster FSB CPUs, which I don't see taking advantage of, you will be better with PC2-4200.

I am not sure matching memory speed with FSB really matters. Remember how PC2-3200 in dual channel was slower than PC2-4200 in dual channel when using same 800MHz FSB and often significantly?? Though using PC2-5400 in dual channel could be too much.

Nothing is wrong, haven't received my OCZ PC2 5400 yet. Its the gold series, with 4-4-4-8 timings @ 667mhz. It says its 1.8v and others have said it works with their systems but I want to make sure its at 667 and not 533. You have a celeron D? I should be getting the memory in the next few days so hopefully everythign will go alright!
