What memory speeds to the Quad cores reqire?

I saw that the Intel version needs 1066mhz memory, right?

But what about AMD's Phenom?

I'm wondering because I want to build a quad core machine with loads of memory and 800mhz 2gb chips are so cheap compared to 1000 and 1066mhz chips.

No, you don't really need any particular speed for a Intel quad-core. Anything DDR2-533 or above will work...

RAM speed has more effect for an AMD proccessor. Just get a 2x2GB kit or something for either one.

I will be a little better if you get PC-6400 or better (if you OC) to get the memory to run 1:1. But as said, almost anything will work.
