What memory should I buy?

I know there is a whole thread for this board, but too many people in there are OCing and using different memory types and all and I don't want to keep going through there.

I plan on purchasing an Asus P4P800-Deluxe. I would like to order 2 sticks of 512MB for 1G total.

I DO NOT plan on overclocking. I just want to get some memory that I can put in and not have to worry about timings or any crap like that. I need it to be stable as well. I don't need DDR3500 or anything super fast like that. 2700 or 3200 would probably be fine. I don't want to spend more than $200 total on the memory.

What should I get?

If you are running a P4C cpu, you need pc3200. If you stick with a name brand like Corsair or Kingston, you can buy their cheaper PC3200 memory. If you plan on running dual channel though, you have to make sure both sticks are the same. Kingston and Corsair both sell twin packs which contain 2 matched sticks.

If you were going to overclock you could buy faster memory but to run at stock speeds, name brand pc3200 should do fine.

If your into bling, then go for Corsair's Pro series. They are the ones with the LED built into the heat spreaders. Way cool!!!

I would recommend Crucial, Kingston, or Mushkin from personal experience. I would also avoid PNY with spektek chips, also from personal experience. Haven't tried Corsair or Buffalo, but have heard good things about them. Both Crucial and Mushkin offer excellent support if you have any problems. I haven't needed to test Kingston's support yet.
