well g.skill acts like the issue is with their ram having issues with just that MSI board. again it took 2 BIOS updates to just be able to have my timings stick. and that was because g.skill was working with MSI to make sure that got done. they do not seem concerned about voltage not being able to be adjusted though. it is a heck of a lot easier to try some different ram then going through all the trouble of taking the mobo out. if some different ram does not fix it then sure I will know its the mobo only and not just some conflict with this particular ram.It doesn't make sense that the limitation with adjusting the VDIMM lies with the memory. I'm 99% sure that responsibility lies with the board. If the VDIMM is below spec, then RMA the board.
stock cooling for now plus I am using an 8600gt so no point and yeah I want to get the ram/mobo issue taken care of first. I already talked to newegg and they said they will work with me no matter what and send me a prepaid shipping label for ram and or mobo and of course no restocking fee. I will just order some different ram on Monday and if that does not work then I will go ahead and order a different mobo. at this point I wish I could just send it all back and get an xbox360, lol.Looking around online it does look like msi and g.skill are having compatability issues.
Have you at least got to play around with overclocking your chip? Or are you gonna wait for new ram?
Man thats wierd with gskill...usually works on any board ive ever used...if you want 100% compatability you better look at the compatability chart from msi which has tested and approved ram, if you want 100% compatability...
