So, I'm pretty settled on getting the ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus. It really seems like the best buy right now and after reading all the reviews I don't see why not to get it. So my question is what memory should I get. I know I want 2GB of DDR2 800 memory. I was looking at Crucial Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804 @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146565

I was looking at Crucial because I read that they use mirconD9 chips which are the best ones for overclocking. I don't plan to overclock right away, but I would like to have that option in the future. So what do you guys think, is there something better out there for me? Keep in mind the most I'm willing to pay for memory is $280, and please explain your answer, just don't say this brand is better, please tell me why. Thanks for the advise ahead of time.

Using the same motherboard as you with an Intel E6600 CPU I went with Kingston's newest high performance RAM, Kingston HyperX 4GB KIT DDR2-800 PC2-6400.

Here's the description: "Kingston's KHX6400D2LLK2/4G is a kit of two low-latency 256M x 64-bit 2GB (2048MB) DDR2-800 CL4 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory modules, based on sixteen 128M x 8-bit DDR2 FBGA components per module. Total kit capacity is 4GB (4096MB). Each module pair has been tested to run at DDR2 800MHz at low latency timing of 4-4-4-12 at 1.9V. "

It's sold as a 4GB kit (2x 2GB) for just under $500 but I read that you can also buy a single DIMM of 2GB. The ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus can handle 8GB of RAM so I'll start with 4GB and see how it goes. It may be hard to find a vendor who is stocking the memory right now as it was only released on 2/21. I found it at Allstarshop.com.

Good luck.
