What media-player do you sync with your iPod?

I have tried, and even tried iTunes again, but it just simply bothers me.

iTunes is such a resource hog, very controlling (especially if you update it to the latest version), and I do not like how it changes my music around on its own (re-names folders after I have edited theme, even places the wrong album art after I just corrected it) :|

I personally use Windows-Media-Player to synchronize with my iPod. Works quite well for me. I also make sure I don't update my iPod, otherwise it will block WMP (Apple is very controlling aren't they?).

So, what does everyone here use, or tried?

I use iTunes and it works great. You know you can turn off all the stuff you mentioned, right?

Personally I find the tight integration and other positive features to outweigh the minor annoyances.

Does that mean you don't need iTunes?

You can get away without using iTunes on Windows by using Winamp plus a plugin. Past that... I think that Realplayer can sync older iPods, not sure about the newer ones though.

Actually, I took a different path; however, the software cost money (but ultimately worth it to me).

Works like a charm for me; the 30-day trial is painless (no constant pop-ups like other software), so if you try it before you buy it please note that Apple is very controlling, so if you recently updated your iPod to the latest software it will not be compatible, unless they fixed that issue.

I don't even update my iPod anymore.

I know I am a little late on this, but it bothers me. You CAN NOT correct iTunes; if you can, then Apple has made it not so user friendly.
