What media do you use for 16x Burning?

What media do you use for 16x burning? I am especially interested in non 16x rated media. I have a whole munch of media rated for 8x or 12x and am wondering if it will work at 16. I am especially interested in Maxell media (thats what I have).

TDK Certified Plus; Even the 8x burn at 16x and read in my cheapo audio cd player better than factory pressed.

Any of the highend stuff should work good. ie. feating the words, Platinum, Certified, Gold, Ultra...etc...

Call it a hunch, but it's usually a good idea to use 16x media for a 16x burner.

Could you tell me why it's better to use 16x media? From what I understand the only difference is that now they have 16x drives to test the "same" media on so they can relable them.

i had a buffer underrun when i tried to burn an 8x cd with a max of 16x on my yamaha. so i would watch out

I doubt that buffer under runs can be caused by the cdr media type. Doesn't the Yamaha have a small cache? I haven't even hit a buffer underrun on my Plextor 161040a, and thats printing/divx encoding/web browsing/ or DVD ripping at 6x while burning an 8x TDK at 16x. Haven't needed burnproof yet!

i have a spindle of 100 imation 16x 80 minute i use with my 12x sony drive with no trouble at all
