What Maxtor HDs have a 3 year warranty please? Thanks

The retail 8MB Cache models. It should say on the box. OEM 8MB cache drives might have 3 year, but not sure.

From Maxtor's website
Maxtor Fireball?, DiamondMax® and DiamondMax Plus ATA drives will carry a Standard Warranty Period of 1 year.
Maxtor MaXLine? ATA premium drives will carry a Standard Warranty Period of 3 years.

Just picked up a Maxtor 80g 8 mb cache & 200g 8mb cache. One from Office depot and the other CompUSA. Both have the 3 year warranty. They were in the older red boxes. From what I have heard, the new silver boxes are 1 year warranty.

That's an affirmative. It'll say on the box whether it's 1 year or 3 year warranty on the 8mb cache hard drives. The retail one I bought had a Robert Downey Jr. looking guy grinning at me with a 1 year warranty. The regular red boxes seem to still have a 3 year warranty.
