I was thinking of taking Aikido or Jujitsu or something like that. What is a good type to take?

Either traditional Chinese Shaulin Kung Fu, or Korean Hapkido. I like Hapkido better of the two forms. Very good one to take.

Akido was the baddest ass thing I ever took. Kung Fu.....Tae Kwon Do---all those are neat....adn flashy. But man, what you learn in Akido is hard as hell, but it sure is pretty dang neat.

They don't have anywhere I could learn ninjitsu where I live though. Oh and why should I take the martial art suggested if you have made another suggestion.

Aikido is incredibly powerful if you master it. People won't be able to even touch you, as you can just toss them aside. A counterattack based martial art.

I know Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is a lot of kicking, and a very good cardiovascular workout as well. Kung Fu is great, IMO.

Definitely Jiu Jitsu... I took Kung Fu (San Soo), then Tae Kwon Do, then discovered Jiu Jitsu and could never go back. It's better exercise (when you're on the ground "sparring" you're using a TON more energy than when you're standing up in a Karate'ish style), and it has a competitive advantage over Karate-styles (See: Ultimate Fighting Championships for professional proof, or most every bar fight were people usually end up rolling on the ground).

For defence make sure what ever style you do make sure the club you at spars properly. Otherwise imo its not up to much in terms of self defence if you don't spar properly.

If its not so much for self defence then any style will do. Just pick one. For fitness Muay Thai is very good. Simple but very affective.

I liked and did Wing Chun myself.

Yeah, UFC rocks. Jui Jitsu is definitely cool. Just take the guy down and break something. Make him squirm like a baby.

I'm thinking most of the YA_T's are just reposts disguised as YA_Ts.

On with the neffing and all the "which ___ should I ____" that entails.

And now my roommate said something about African booty snatching, and that sounds a bit unique, so I think I want to follow the conversation. Not that that has anything at all to do with martial arts.

Oh yeah, buy a gun. That's the conclusion derived from my 10 years of martial arts' experience.
