I'd strongly suggest getting some kind of MPEG decoder card.

I have an ancient Creative DXR2 which easily outshines my Hercules GF2. The colour gradients are far superior and the image is much clearer too, plus the aspect actually fits a widescreen TV.

btw.. i'm currently using:

Pioneer 305S SCSI DVD
Creative DXR2
Videologic Sonic Fury (stereo only connected directly to TV)
Panasonic 28" 100Hz Widescreen on a S-VHS connect from the DXR2.

I find the TV speakers sufficient as the system is in a relatively small room.

Yoshi.

I used a Creative Dxr3 with my previous setup. (The Dxr3 and Hollywood+ card are nearly identical.) All I can say is that my Radeon7500 with PowerDVD 4.0 is far superior.

Audigy/Radeon/Inspire 5300 this with my awesome 19" LG 915+.

<< If you have a TV and stereo system, turn off your PC, save all that dough needed to upgrade that PC, and spend it on a good quality DVD player >>

I agree. But my TV only has a simple coax connection. Not even RCA. It is older. So for the price of a 5.1 speaker setup, good sound card and dvd player, not only will I be able to hear'em coming loud and clear in Castle Wolfenstein or Counterstike and have awesome audio environment experiences in gaming, but I can throw in dvd and step back to my armchair and soak up a good flick with better picture quality than any tv short of an hdtv could produce.

😛
