Your wife turns tricks on the side (in the back rooms) in order to get extra money. Most places are like that.

Trust me, most strippers are also prostitutes for the right price.

dude, where you go i wouldn't and your view is skewed from the nasty ass places you frequent. some are like you describe but many of the mid to upper end ones are not, guess this shows what type of person you are and the company you like.

and saying the guys wife is doing stuff in the back room - that is just weak and the only reason you say it online is because most people would probably beat your ass if you said it in person.

You also have to consider the effective rate because most of them don't pay full taxes on the revenue they generate.

trifecta.

not all strippers have low self-esteem. Many are highly extroverted and have no problem paying bills while doing it.

Up in Gainesville (University of Florida), quite a few chicks would work stripping because for 4-6 hours of time they can make more than 30 hours at a Steak and Shake.

Some of these girls were going for post graduate degrees and had to cover all the costs themselves.

So a 6 figure job isnt enough to aspire to eh?

Sure, strippers and porn actresses can make good money. But do they get any respect or credibility, nope.

How many car dealerships and mortgage lenders ask to see a copy of your Respect and Credibility? :D
QFT

Come to think of it, how many car dealerships and mortgage lenders HAVE Respect and Credibility? Add realtors to the list, and you have the trifecta of crooked business folks :)

Some have no other means to make nearly as much money doing something else (the majority).
Some are addicts/alcoholics and need drug money.
Some are actually putting their way through college (my wife did this for a few years when she was younger, again very rare).
A LOT are single moms who've made bad life decisions and need to support them somehow.

They are just people *shrug*.

I wasn't going to say it!!!

Yea, I stripped once. I didn't make much money thoguh :( Guess the guys didn't like my beer gut nor my nutsack hanging out the sides of my G-String.

hehe, I kid. Seriously though, alot of them do it for the money or low self esteem issues. i knew of one young girl who was absolutely gorgeous. Nice rack, nice butt great looking face. but she hard a hard time with men and turned to stripping.

it was sad cuz she was a rael nice person on top of all that.

I guess I missed that this thread was updated. All I have to say is... Riiiiiiight. Believe what you want, spanky. I have nothing to prove to some random wanker on the internet.

What I do know is that my wife makes more sitting around and drinking champagne for a few hours than a lot of people make in a week.

That would be my bet.

Especially in college towns, where a decently good looking young woman can strip a few nights a week and make more than she could at any menial labor job, working for pennies above minimum wage, for 40 hours a week. She works fewer hours, gets paid more, and (I'm sure in some cases) learns how the male human psyche works, which could be very handy in the future, when she's working her way up the ladder in business.

pluses:

1) ugly guys need to get they jollies off somehow before their bolls turn blue and they die... its all about saving lives, man..
2) some girls are already extroverted.. hey, why not turn a hobby into a job and earn some money?
3) its good exercise "shaking and grinding"... unlike going to the gym, where the girls pay to use the stairmaster.. running machine, etc; in the clubs, the girls are the ones BEING paid... besides wasn't there a thread about too many fat people in the states?
4) if a truely nasty looking guy wants a lap dance, the girl can just say she's with another customer...

I've known 2 strippers personally.

One was going to the same college I was. She stripped because it was easy money. She'd pull in 2K a weekend.

The other was a dental assistant and needed some extra money. Her BF at the time suggested she try to win the amature night contest.

She ended up winning, and after talking with the other "dancers" decided to try it.

She was also making big $$... while maintaining her day job.

So for the ones I knew... the answer to the OP's question is Money. :)

I would take off my clothes for money.
Unfortunately, I would probably make more money by putting clothes on.

IMO, even a reasonably attractive woman will have learned this long before she's old enough to [legally] strip. Sometimes it just takes them a little longer to realize how to exploit the situation.
