Here's how the stripper game works. (In Alaska anyway)
The strippers work a circuit. The clubs have arrangements with other clubs in other states and they arrange for the girls to move from club to club and state to state. (Fresh faces make more money - so it's a good business arrangement for the girls) While they are in a specific city the club owner usually has some sort of dorm set up for the girls to stay at. Transportation (if needed) is usually provided by the club or by some sap the dancer happens to be "dating." So no car is needed. When their "tour" is up at one club they transfer to the next club.
There are always some local girls that never leave but they don't usually last long.
The story is different for the Grade A "gentlemen's clubs" but making it into one of those clubs is like getting called up from the minor leagues in baseball.
A friend of mine used to date a LOT of strippers.

Think about it like this.. not all but a large majority of women in this profession had broken homes, probably treated like dirt by a father or boyfriend and have an abuse mentality. Turning a guy on, making him completely focused on what you're doing, the way you have complete control over him is a sense of power that cannot quenched, it's a little piece of sanity back each time it happens; a little piece they take back. If these women had higher self worth they wouldn't be subjecting themselves and degrading themselves for money and other people's amusement. One of my friend's sister was a stripper for a while, fit the m.o. I painted above perfectly. She told me she didn't think she was good enough at anything else to be successful. It's definetly an issue of low self esteem.
I'm not saying it's wrong.. hell it's your body you should be able to do whatever the hell you want with it but I'm trying to illustrate a point here.

The club i go to on occasion seems to have a mix, but really its the ones that enjoy it and make it a profession. I never have gotten it but from when i talk to them the most profound ones are the girls that are trying to break into the porno industry. my fav has been a girl that is into the bondage/fetish stuff and she actually enjoys what she does mainly cause she gets to beat up on guys. shes actually modeled for a couple sites, done a couple vids, but she loves the dancing cause it allows her to embaresss guys on a grand scale.
Another girl travels the country, each place garnering a few different opportunities. i found it pretty interesting as from what she tells me been to small clubs in vegas, texas, atlanta, and like mentioned above they kinda "trade" her around (she gets to choose though) and they pay for travel, put her up in houses, etc.

My wife makes more working 20 hours a week than I've ever made at a "real" job. Granted, it's not a career, just something she wanted to do for a while instead of wasting her life in a cubicle. If I could get paid hundreds of dollars an hour to drink champagne and take my clothes off, I would. Too bad nobody wants to see me naked.

i dont know... maybe its because the girl that i did like in high school ended up stripping to pay for college (or so thats what she said)... i always had the hots for her but she always ended up dating d-bags... it was funny though, when me and my buddies ran into her @ the strip club... she was embarrased... oh well... never knew what happened to her...

None, in fact, they'd probably get a better deal if they're hot. But Im talking about repect and credibility among working proffesionals. Not car salesmen.
No offense to any of you who are in that business. I think Waggy said his family was in the car sales business. This only applies to the sleazy dealerships.
