So if one god wants transmit truth to man, he has to vet it through the other gods before carving it in stone? Can you imagine the margin notes?Religious texts are peer reviewed and therefore valid.

General public, again... those are subsets of people. One is people with HIV in a remote part of the world. I'm talking general public in the USA who are healthy(-ish) and regular individuals. I don't think taking multivitamins is a good substitute to eating foods with the vitamins. (Which is how a lot of people view it)
Trident, not again.
Vitamin C, look it up. It has been constantly shown to have important traits for humans since it has a role in enzyme synthesis.
I'm not sure exactly what's up with multivitamins. Are we talking anti-oxidants, or dietary supplements or what? Because yeah, multivitamins are going to be a subject where results vary.
And you are basing your opinion on.....
Give me a link to your peer reviewed paper which says there is no benefits to be gained from vitamins. Otherwise, you are doing EXACTLY what your claim your friend is doing, ignoring science fact just because it doesn't jive with your world view.
Taking vitamins doesn't do anything unless your diet is horrendous. The extra vitamins are pissed out. If you take too much vitamin C, it'll cause really hardcore diarrhea (and it's cheaper than "laxatives")Ummm, What? Most vitamins have some REAL health benefits (and drawbacks when overdone) that are well known. It is the random herbal supplements that you have to be wary of.
I'm disappointed that companies don't make a vitamin targeted to lazy people. At the store I saw ones for pregnant women, women in general, old people, and just people in general. I didn't see any labeled for people like me who eat mostly deep fried meat with white bread and some kind of sauce with no fruits or vegetables. With a proper diet you shouldn't need vitamin supplements, but many(majority?) people don't get a proper diet. It's cheap insurance.
