What makes a PSU good for OC'ing?

It's time to get a new PSU for my rig (specs in sig), which I plan to OC in the future. I understand that wattage (how much do I approx. need at least?) and current on the 12 rail is important. Is there anything else that's crucial? I like to pick my own models based on general principles (mostly because a lot of the stuff you guys would recommend simply isn't available over here), so please try to insert as few ebay links as possible. 🙂

A good 400W unit should work for you. I would get one with at least 28A on the 12V rail, and 32A is preferred.

The following brands are good: Fortron Source (FSP), Sparkle, Enermax, Topower, EPower, OCZ, Tagan, TTGI, SuperFlower, Antec, Seasonic, and I'm sure there are a few others I missed.

PCP&C 😉

I would probably get a good OCZ Power Stream so you can adjust the rails and add yet another variable in OC'ing, or a good PCP&P or course...

depends on your budget
