I just bought a couple cases that came with a generic 250W PS. I want to use these with my Durons. I don't plan on having too many devices (floppy, cd-rom, 1-2 HDs, basic video card, and NIC). What makes a power supply "AMD Approved" and will I need one?

Thanks,
Ken

Yeah, but I've already bought the cases and don't want to buy new power supplies if I can help it.

Generally AMD-approved power supplies are specced for higher amperage and more consistent voltage on the 5- and 12-V lines. Cheaper power supplies have pretty bad voltage fluctuations from poor quality step-down circuits.

I agree with paldo. My 250 was working really good. I would stay with what you have , Unless you liek to spend all you cash :)
