I know a good song when I hear it, I'm sure many feel that way too. So what makes a song a good song? What makes it a hit for you? What elements make it a great song? Curious to know :)

Why do YOU listen to music, what does it do for you?

Nothing and everything make a good song. Good music is strictly based on opinion.

it has to talk about money and hoes and the singers have to go bling bling a lot

i think a good song is based on rhythm and consistancy.

listen to the songs:
now i'm a believer - the monkeys
let's ride - choclair
money jane - baby blue sound crew
run through the jungle - CCR
5 O'clock world - Dave Clark Five

they all have a consistant sound going, by that i mean it's very predictable where the sound is going (steady, up in tone, down in tone).

[edit]as a side note, most rap songs are really good until rappers start talking about killing this and killing that :([/edit]

I believe a good song has good music or a lot of meaning. Some songs have a nice beat or orchestration, some song might just have an emotional message, while a GREAT song has both.
