What makes 24 hour fitness > ballys & LA fitness?

It isn't necessarily. Like Ameesh said, what makes you think they are better?

In the case of here in TX - it's true IMO. All the Bally's here are small, and very few locations. (The closest one is 20 minutes away from me minimum) From what my friend also tells me - there's a lot less equipment and at least the one he goes to, the equipment is older.

In the case of 24, I have 2 within 5-10 minutes from my house. I have 2 within 5-10 minutes from my college when I went there. I have 1-2 that's close to all of my friend's houses.

i would guess the 24 hour fitness is open for 24 hours. Which the ballys near me isn't. But also, there isn't a 24 hour fitness around here either, so I don't know.

I think bally's is cheaper.

I signed up for 24hr X sports for $430/15 months. I like how it is open 24 hours and I can go when my schedule allows. I've tried Bally's for couple of weeks (trial) and I really didnt like their old equipment and overall crummyness. Checked out several other Bally's and they were same. Xsports just opened up recently in NW subs in IL so they have all new equipments.

Also, I love how they have indoor basketball court! I can play anytime I want. And they also have indoor rock climbing (which I do use 😉) and most importantly...

MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE of HOT girls in Xports than Bally's. 😉

enjoy

I don't think one franchise is better than another. It is more likely due to the actual manager of that location, the equipment there, and the people that attend. I was at Gold's for 4+ years, now they've been bought out by Fitness19. But at $60 down and $12/month for life I can't complain.
