What made "the stranger" more popular

it was? I saw GI60S a dozen times and don't remember any 'stranger' talk.

right in the beginning... i watched it last night. it was the dude sitting on the stool in one of the opening scenes

I just started watching GI60S on TNT and saw the stranger reference. Don't know how I ever forgot it being mentioned, maybe because I usually catch this mid-way on TV.

i believe 'the stranger' became common knowledge with 'gone in sixty seconds'. i mean the movie cracked over a $100 million alone in the us, so it had to resonate with the wide scope of different ages seeing it. especially since it was a pg-13 movie.

Tumbler: Yo, so check out my new move. I call it the stranger. What I do is, I sit on my hand for, like, 15, 20 minutes, until it goes numb. No feeling at all. And then I rub one out.
Toby: The stranger, huh?
Atley Jackson: It's like a little boy's nursery school I've come upon here.
to further paint the picture, tumbler is played by scott caan (oceans eleven, ready to rumble, varsity blues).

toby is played by william scott lee (identity, the butterfly effect and 'bullethead' on the steve harvey show)

and atley is played by will patton (remember the titans, armaggedon).
