What made Anand so great?

I'm doing a psychology little assignment thing. It reads:

"Choose a powerful political or historical figure. Write a short paper (one page) using one or more of the theories of motiviation to explain this individual's rise to power. Drive-Reduciton Theory, McClelland's Need for Achievement, Maslow's Hierarchy, etc."

So...who else to write this on but the great god among us...."The Boss." That's right, I wanna do this on Anand Lal Shimpi.

What is it that drives this diety among us to create and maintain this universe we call AT. All input is greatly appreciated.

By the way, my teacher isn't very serious. This isn't a really big assignment, so....

GIVE ME INPUT!!!

its infinite and its expanding. about 18 billion years old. started from a big bang.... i can go on and on

When his website first came out it was somewhat unique. Where else could you find in depth reviews and benchmarks on the internet? Very shortly after his Geocities site first appeared it became popular. The key to the success of this website in the beginning was that it was unique, and I think that still holds somewhat true through the ATOT forum.

I would say part of it would have to be openmindedness. He seems to review everything fairly, and that probably calls to people.

because it gave all us "Geeks" a place to get together and be all geeky!

and the FS\FT forum and the Hot deals one help also

I have no idea what motivated him, but the reason he has been successful is simple. Hard work. For someone who was only 15, his dedication was/is amazing.

Oh now you change thread title to Anand ...

Because he was young and had a killer website before bigger websites were out.

His awesome teeth!(?) Seriously I have no idea, I don't know him 🙂

I can tell you why I like his website though. His reviews are unbiased, fair, and over time his dedication and hardwork have come to make me trust him and his reviews.

I don't know.. Because he had some money as a kid and liked to screw around with computers and web sites? 😉 I have no clue. Sorry.

Man.. You're going to go far up the corporate ladder because you have your a*s smooching technique finely honed and you're not even out of school yet. Are you looking to get yourself a free year on the subcriber forums out of this? 😉

Sal

Being as though I have followed him from the very beginning, I can sum it in one statement. "Anand strives to find out the truth." Plain and simple, honesty has been his foundation of success.

I agree, I never detected any bias in his reviews as opposed to some of the other main sites.

I also enjoyed in the early days the movie reviews ,what happened on Friday night etc. You could tell that he was doing it because he enjoyed it and that showed in the site.

I read a newspaper article about Anand a few years ago. I remember it vividly, because Anand looked like he was under 18 (he probably was) and they showed him standing in front of his badass looking $50,000+ sports car. 🙂

You should look for that article, because it had a great story on how he got started in the hardware review biz.

He is probably 19 now.

He wrote about what interested him and did it well. When everyone was getting excited about a new piece of hardware, so was Anand. That sort of interest drove his website to reflect exactly what the readers wanted. He knew/knows how to write reviews that answer common questions that almost everyone is constantly having -- instead of just spewing details.
