What little things will I need (newbie build)?

This is my first time building a computer and I just ordered all my parts from newegg. Do the parts that I ordered contain everything I need or will I have to get an additional cable or two?

I'll also take comments on my parts, if you feel like it. What I ordered fits my rough budget, but if I missed out on some good value for a few dollars more, I've got major compatability issues in my future, or I've not chosen the right parts to get value out of the other components, feel free to point it out. Thanks.

Hi, welcome to AT!

Here's what I have to say: The ram looks awefully expensive. If you instead spend about $40 more on the processor, you can get the much faster Athlon 64 3000+, and you could save that money by getting something cheap, like Buffalo 3200 ram (in one stick).

If you'd like a cheaper hard drive, you could always buy retail when there's a sale. As for the optical drive, you could get a DVD burner for about $30 more retail.

One tiny thing not to forget is to get some better thermal interface than what's included. I'd say try to buy some Arctic Silver 5 since it's really good stuff. It was $5 at svc.com when on sale.

Good luck!

Your mobo will come with sata cable, sata power cables, an ide cable, and a floppy cable. Since you aren't getting a sata drive you may wish to get an additional IDE cable if you want the DVD drive and hard drive on seperate channels.

Nice parts selection. You will have everything you need.
