It's a REAL old pentium 75mhz w/ 8mb ram and like a 2 mb video card, its also a Hewlett Packard :( I have heard that generally linux won't run with OEM computers since it can't find drivers or something, can someone point me to a linux? also it has to be small since the hard drive is like 800 mb I think.

I would have to say yes.
I have two laptops, one an acer P150 with a 2mb vidcard and the other a whitebox P133 with a 1mb vidcard, and have had linux work fine on both.
That is an ample harddrive, I have installed on a 500mb drive before, you just end up leaving behind some bigger things, which are mainly redundencies, such as installing all the windows managers, etc..

I used Slackware, but as I am a BSD sort of person, that is the only linux that I have ever had any real experience with.

My server installatinos take only ~570 MB, but I leave on the GUI. And your system will work fine, it can just load generic drivers anyway... the trouble would be with things like funky sound cards, modems, and if you want to use any GUI video card drivers.
