What Lessons Have we learned from the Bush Presidency?

1. Never let your guard down. Just because we've had smart and successful Presidents before doesn't mean the next one will be. Just because Clinton lead over a successful period didn't mean that Bush was going to carry the torch. He dropped it and smothered it with ideological nonsense.

2. Follow your gut instincts. If a man comes preaching peace, his hat may change as soon as he has some power. If a man comes preaching war, he will be the first to escape (from the truth). Choose the man in the middle. The one who will make his decision following the evidence, not before it. Besides, people that usually preach peace and mean it are usually killed when the opportunity is ripe.

3. The world really is simple, not complicated. It only becomes the latter when you try to jam a square into a circle. Ideology and thuggery has its limits. Reason is a better vehicle

4. Patience really is a virtue. It can save lives and money.

5. The truth is out there. If you want, you can always find it.

That's your opinion.

Republicans would strongly disagree as they are quite happy, thank you very much.

6. For all its talk of peace and understanding the left spews nothing but hate towards Bush i.e. we should talk to al-Qaeda and try to understand these people who are trying to kill us, but we must hate Bush

7. The United States is the most dangerous country in the world

8. Only Democrats can have a 'good' economy, if you are Republican with a record stock market and unemployment below 5% you must be doing it with smoke and mirrors

9. If we would have just talked to North Korea they would have listened and not set off a nuke, this despite the fact that NK doesn't listen to anyone including its sole benefactor China

10. All this will change the day Democrats take over and the world will return to peace and harmony

We did listen to them, if indirectly. One of their central pillars was for America to leave the land of the two Holy Places. We left

7. The United States is the most dangerous country in the world

Power, if used irresponsibly, can be very dangerous. It's always the most powerful that are most dangerous. Bin Laden may have killed thousands but we have him beaten. The point is to use your power wisely, not for personal or profit. There's nothing wrong with gambling, but gambling is risk in and of itself and you must fall on your sword should things go south.

8. Only Democrats can have a 'good' economy, if you are Republican with a record stock market and unemployment below 5% you must be doing it with smoke and mirrors

An economy where the major engine of growth comes from one place, property (42%), isn't really healthy. America needs to be more social, less capitalistic, if it wants to provide the best for all its citizens. Otherwise there will be a major gap between the two populations.

9. If we would have just talked to North Korea they would have listened and not set off a nuke, this despite the fact that NK doesn't listen to anyone including its sole benefactor China

North Korea is a difficult country to deal with but Bush made a major mistake when he refused to talk to NK directly. How stupid was that? I remember back in 2001 when NK wanted to change it's economic system by setting up an SEZ (Special Economic Zone), like what China did in the 1980s, to increase trade. They also wanted to become more open. Bush said hell no and China arrested the man the N. Koreans chose to run the place. Then Bush tried to isolate NK. Pure stupidity.

10. All this will change the day Democrats take over and the world will return to peace and harmony

Hopefully they can repair some of the damage by talking to our enemies and allies around the world. There's nothing better than the meeting of minds.

Excuse me...

Radioactive sniffers have not detected a peep of radioactivity from the blast site.

Certainly appears your hero is blowing smoke.

What Lessons Have we learned from the Bush Presidency?
We've learned that Karl Rove and the entire Bushwhacko administration have adopted Hitler's propoganda minister, Joseph Goebbels', concept of The Big Lie and deployed it extensively.
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it. - OSS report page 51
Sound familiar?
All the forces of war were compelling,
And blacker than Colin, the Knight,
And the liesthey we're telling, they sell in the name of their savior.

They silence the voices arising,
From those who would show us the light.
With their guys with their spies in the skies watching you and your neighbor.

And Who's Watching Over Who's Watching Over You?
Tell me who's telling you what to do what to do?

Since you continue with your pro-Clinton propaganda, please, wise one, explain to us how the 1994 "Framework" became such a disaster? Clinton gave them the money and the technology to bring them where they are now. Hell, Albright even toasted the madman.

Yeah, we should've learned these lessons 60 years ago. Americans have learned nothing and the criminal elements in power have forgotten nothing.

Like I said before, NK is a difficult country. But these people are more desperate than we think. That's why they try to setup an SEZ in 2001. But Bush rejected all that and the Chinese arrested the man they had chosen to run their SEZ. I believe the man was a billionaire floralist in China who had Dutch citizenship. If we had helped them set up that SEZ, their economy would've gotten better. Instead we've threaten them. How would you react if somebody threatens you? Would you kowtow or fight for survival?

The fact is we can make NK and America safer by engaging them, helping their economy. THat way, they'll be less dependent on the criminal enterprise and they'll engage with the world. That's the whole point: less isolation and more engagement with the family of nations.
