What legacy video card would suit me best for this setup?

I never play games, only reason I'm upgrading the video card is to have better chances of stability when overclocking. I don't want to spend much, maybe like $40-50. I'm sort of hoping someone here has has (or had) a similar setup and can tell me what they think would be best for me. Even 32mb would be fine.

Barton 2500+
Abit NF7-S
2x 256MB PC3200

I never had a video card with TV-out, that would be a plus, I'd like to give that try.. maybe watch some SVCDs on the couch instead of in my computer chair.

Geforce3 should do the job, or a step below, a Geforce2 GTS/Pro card. Either can be found on the FS/T forum in your price range. Though I have heard that ATi cards have better TV-out, but this can depend on the maker of the PCB too.

If no gaming at all, Radeon 7000/7500/8500/9000 would all be fine. Most 8500/9000's have TV-Out I think, but most 7000's I've seen don't.

If you think the features would be useful to you, an ATI all in wonder card might be good, that's a card that has a TV tuner and Video In/Out, for example the AIW 7500 someone is selling here. Or even the AIW 128Pro on the same page, but I would hesitate to buy such an old card. I think All-In-Wonder cards are great, I have the 9600Pro AIW and it's really nice to watch TV while I'm doing some light school work (yes, bad habit, oh well)

You shouldn't need a new vidcard for overclocking, lock AGP/PCI speeds.

Transcend RADEON 9200SE Video Card, 64MB DDR, 64-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "TS64MVDR92E" -RETAIL

$50.00 from newegg. This price is fine, this will be my last video card for a while. It was horrible in benchmarks compared to higher priced cards but I'm not concerned with that.

You should try to find a $50 card on ebay. ti4200 or a 8500......8500le .....they're all better than the videocard you found on newegg.

this is a horrible card to buy. why arnt you concerned with benchmarks? if you werent concerned with benchmarks, why didnt you buy a voodoo3?

lol people need to read...the 9200SE is fine for your needs...remember we originaly said geforce3/2. The TV out quality is great on a 9200 (had one before my 9800) and it played every game I threw at it at 1024x768 with full details, so not a bad choice for $50.

If you?re going to get a 9200SE get the Sapphire one for $44

EDIT: Note the Sapphire 9200SE does not have a DVI port, so if that is important get the Transcend.

In case I want to upgrade to an LCD in the future, an extra $6 wouldn't hurt. Again this is probably my last video card for a while (years).

Transcend... I've never heard of that but I've had bad experiences with 3rd party cards, which is why I only buy ATi now.
