Which one, and why? How good are Salora and Hannspree ? They aren't all the same size, but they are in the same price category, and 400 euro is really all I'm looking to spend. This will be in my dorm, and I'll be hooking it up to my PC. Only use it to watch movies though, I'll be using my 20" monitor for normal PC stuff and gaming. I have a 8800gts 320mb with two dvi-outs. Do I need to buy an EXPENSIVE HDMI cable? I need a HDMI to DVI converter if the TV doesn't come with a DVI port.

Tatung V26MMFJ-ET1 - 350 euro

Salora LCD-2627TNDVX - 375 euro

Samsung LE23R81B - 399 euro

Samsung LE26S81B - 394 euro

Hannspree Xv32 - YT07-32E1-000G - 407 euro

TIA, I really don't know to much about LCD TV's, and these are all 1366 x 768, should I forget about that resolution, and go with 1680*1050 ? I've seen those too, but they are cheaper? Other suggestions, in the same price range range are welcome!!! Looking for 26" or bigger if possible. Full HD ready is to expensive so not really an option.

Most small LCD TV's are 1366x768, which is roughly 720p resolution for HDTV's. That's a good resolution for TV, but not if you wanted to use it as a monitor.

Out of those TV choices, I'd choose the Samsung LE26S81B. Samsung TV's in general seem to have superior black level performance.

And, NO, you do not need an expensive HDMI cable. A $10 (8 euro?) cable from amazon.com is just as good, since it carries a digital and not an analog signal.

Thanks Bob :) I really do like the Samsung, also because it's such a known brand. The hannspree is a lot bigger though. Decision decisions :p
