What LCD monitor would be best for me?

I'm still a CRT user at home, and I have a 19" widescreen LCD at work. As soon as I installed the widescreen at work, right off the bat I noticed that its colors were off. It looks as if the video card is set to 16 bit color instead of 24 or 32 bit color, the banding is pretty bad. My video is set to 32 bits, though.

I read up on this and I found that this is common on a lot of cheaper LCD monitors. Also, when I look at a dark gray background, the pixels are flickering which doesn't look too good.

Since I edit a lot of pictures, I need good color reproduction. I play some games and browse the internet. A cheapie isn't going to work for me.

I searched the site and saw that a highly recommended monitor was the Dell 1905FP. That review is 2 years old, though. Has anything else taken the crown as the "must have" LCD monitor, or is that still one of the best?

Thanks.
