What LCD and video card?

I got about $1000 to spend on a LCD screen and video card, what combo is best? Looking for at least a 17". I currently have a geforce2 mx.

First I'd make sure you get an LCD with at least a response time of 25ms. Since you have 1000 dollars to spend, I'd suggest the Samsung 170T 17" for your LCD pick. It's real nice looking, it has both analog and dvi connectors, and it has a response time of 25ms. Another plus is that its around $700. For your graphics card, pick a Geforce 4 TI or if you can wait a week or two, get the Matrox Parhelia. Don't worry about poor RAMDACS or bad filters; if you are using DVI, then you will always get high quality text.
