Mrs. Devilsadvocate needs to buy a lappy today that can support AutoCAD and Photoshop.

What vendor sells the most kickass lappys on the planet, and what is the fastest mobile GPU on the markey today?

Thanks.

IIRC, the fastest video is the Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo cards on Dell Inspiron 8xxx/Latitude D8xx.

I think this is faster.

althought it is alienware, but someone does make those laptops for them, so maybe you can find it for cheaper.

OMG, I didn't know alieware made laptops. That is sweet looking.
Too bad I don't have $2600 to spend.

Looks like the gfx chip is also the Radeon 9600 Mobile. Sounds like it's probably slower than a 9600 Pro Turbo.

But for Photoshop and AutoCAD, you don't need a super fast 3d vid card. Just get the fastest mobile cpu you can to keep the rendering times down. Most of the high-end mobile video chips should be able to handle that stuff just fine.

For autocad and photoshop I would recommend the IBM T41p it has the ATI Mobility FIREGL T2 w/ 128MB of RAM. It is basically a mobile workstation. It is 1" thin and has a PM chip, excellent build quailty. I plan to buy one soon, just need the $$$ as they are quite expensive.

T41p

Sis chipset? no thanks. You can get the same thing with an Intel chipset, Dolby Digital, built-in wireless G, and 1 GB of Dual Channel DDR 3200 from Sager for $700 cheaper.
