I'll be getting my bachelor's of science of engineering soon and I've been job-hunting.

I haven't concentrated in any particular field of engineering nor have I done much comp sci stuff. I've done some basic economic and business stuff though.

Is there any job that would be suitable for someone with a general engineering degree? Or is it just a way to be flexible for grad school?

*edit: i'm getting my BSE degree from The Cooper Union

You've gotta find a company somewhere with entry-level positions available. They're hard to find, but if you can locate one, you'll do fine.

patent/ip lawyers straight out of law school can make baseline 125 before bonuses in a major city. definitely not 7 figures (those numbers are reserved for plaintiff's class action lawyers), but making 6 figures as a 20-something isn't bad either ! :)

yeah patent lawyers rake in the dough. I'm not kidding either. It requires a degree in a technical field and then a law degree. Not too many people around with those qualifications.

I just wanna edit you post to reflect reality:

patent/ip lawyers straight out of a tier one law school top 10% of thier class can make a baseline 125 before bonuses in a major city. definitely not 7 figures (those numbers are reserved for plaintiff's class action lawyers with 20 years experiance and political connections), but making 6 figures as a 20-something isn't bad either, however the average starting salery for lawyers is around 40K and many don't find work at all ! :)

How about this:
patent/ip lawyers straight out of a tier one law school top 50% (if median salary is reported as 125K as it is at many of the top schools, then at least a minimum 50% are making 125) of their class can make a baseline 125 before bonuses in a major city. definitely not 7 figures (those numbers are reserved for plaintiff's class action lawyers with 20 years experiance and political connections), but making 6 figures as a 20-something isn't bad either, however the average starting salary for lawyers is around 40K (what is the avg salary for a patent lawyer tho? I don't know myself...) and many don't find work at all (driven mostly by non-specialists who tend to be the ambulance chaser types and not patent lawyers)!
