Looking for good functionality and image quality for around $200 or under.

I'm an olympus fan myself. That 8x optical would be very hard to use effectively without any sort of image stabilzation.

I like Kodaks, Olympus is nice though too, you know... Quite a few companies make nice cameras... I'd say try and get your hands on them and take a look. Just looking them over and stuff is a damn good way of making a decision...

You're looking at a very small market there...no one who's looking at digicams is looking for something anywhere near simple
