looking for some ideas and inspiration I need a new coat for this year... I went shopping yesterday and found one I liked, but it was way more than I'd be willing to pay.

Something very similar to this. It does not get very cold here and if it does I just wear a scarf, gloves, and a toque.

Good link. I have a BR 3/4 wool coat. Works well for NE winters.

Back in Michigan, I have a 3/4ths length grey pinstripe coat, a traditional peacoat, a Marmot winter outer layer, an Andrew Marc parka, an Andrew Marc leather jacket...and who knows what else.

Too bad I don't have any need for it now that I'm in Phoenix. I miss winter fashion.

I typically just wear a Northface Goretex Shell, with no lining. The cold doesn't bother me too much.

I still have my Navy peacoat.
I got a nice parka from Fleet Farm in Minnesota. Its black nylon with goose down filling.
I've also got a decent long London Fog coat.

I dont know about Loki's neighborhood but in Virginia we have a store called the Rugged Wear House and they have all kinds of kickass coats for very reasonable prices.

I just wear a dickscarf in the winter.
