What kind of vacationer are you?

I love frequenting major cities mainly because I don't live in one anymore... I don't really like the mountains and cold weather but absolutely LOVE the beach. What kind of trips to you like taking and where do you usually go?

BTW my two favorite spots to vacation in the US are New York and Miami/ Ft. Lauderdale.

I've never taken a trip for "vacation". Actually, I've never taken a "vacation" in the common sense of the term.

The wife and I are trying to get the funds together to hit Ft. Lauderdale next year.

I prefer beaches and tropical-type places. I hate the cold and I'm not much for skiing. I have gone to cities on vacations, though, and they are fun, too.

Put me in the mountains of upstate NY on Lake Sacandaga (sp?) at the lakehouse and I am in heaven. Boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, 3 wheeling, etc.

I don't travel much but I would like to stay at a excluded place, and visit the big city every once in awhile during the trip. Because I enjoy them both, and as of now where I live is right in between so it sucks

I am really open to vacations, I love them all.

Whether it be camping, snowbording, hiking, traveling to cities and tropical areas, I love them all!

the wife and i love cruises.

but we're also into the visit another city type of vacation as well. we had a blast in prague, czech republic and every time we've visited london.

i'm also into the snowboard vacation. snowbird in utah was probably the best while whistler/blackcomb was the biggest.

all in all, as long as we're away from work we're pretty happy 🙂

For me:

Vacation = Relaxation..

I usually go to the beach and just relax and have fun. I hate sightseeing and doing the tours.

When I go on foreign vacations, I act like a totally arrogant American. I go places, then bitch at them for being so poor. If only they would work hard, they could be like America too. I also complain about everything, like how dirty things are, how crowded the roads are and how ugly their women are. Then I try to explain to people, that America can bomb them to hell. That shuts most people up.

I love the beach. 🙂

At present, I NEED a vacation. Don't see that happening anytime soon though.

My dad works for Delta (and I am a former Delta and Lufthansa employee), and my mom lives on a Greek island. You can guess how/where I like to vacation. I depart for Athens, Greece in a few weeks and won't return until late August most likely.

Edit: Working for Delta = fly for free (even in Business class).

I'd like adventure in my vacation. Snowboarding, hiking, river rafting, etc.

Beach? Why the people like the beach so much? Maybe because in Southern California it's just too normal...

Well, I just got back from Myrtle Beach, and it was great! I like any kind of vacation though, I'll go skiing, to a beach, would love to someday go to a foreign country other then canada or mexico (been to both.) My dream is to someday go to Austraila or tour all over Ireland. Baiscally, if it's a good time, I am up for it!

Because when I go skiing, all I can think about is how much the snowboarders piss me off.

I usually go visit family.. which means we go to DC, or we go to the mountains in virginia.. because that's where the family is. every couple years we go to the beach with my parents, at their invitation. more expensive vacations aren't often in my budget (single income family, 2 teens, one in college). when I can afford a spendy vacation.. I go to disneyworld!

When I vacation, I like to relax. I like to get away from it all, not head to some crowded tourist trap. My fav is the summer road trip, with camping, hiking, and biking.

I really don't have vacatons, time off yes. Except 2001, I had to be off accumulated over 6 or 7 weeks vacation time. So I took off march, and in 3 weeks drove by myself from Ontario to BC and back.
