going ot use it for games, like Wii, and DVDs mainly. I have no HDTV service or anything that uses HDTV. I'm not sure when I will have anything that sues HDTV, probably not for a little while yet.

should i stick with a CRT TV (which would be good for picture quality and price) or try for an LCD TV with HD support?

I'm looking in the 32" range. I found a Olevia 332H 32" lcd flat panel, hdtv ready (no tuner) for $559 and $80 rebate. This TV is still in stock.

or i found a 32" sylvania CRT for $267 and $20 mail in rebate.

Are you a member of CostCo?

Do you have cable or satellite TV service?

you will have to pay a surchage if you are not a member...IIRC, it is a 5% markup...

If you want a 32" CRT, a comparable wide-screen TV would be 42". In your situation, I would base your decision the size of your room. A CRT would be cheaper and have better PQ than a cheapo flat-panel, but it would also take up more space. And if you choose a flat screen HD CRT, it would weigh more than 200 lb!

does anyone even have any input on the tv i linked?

i probably should just get a crt tv and be done with it since it will be a good bit cheaper but i don't want to have to buy another tv later on when i need HD.

I would look for a used Sony XBR on craigslist. XBR will have the best picture quality, and they last forever...just heavy as fvck.
