What kind of tires did I just buy?

So I bought four new tires for my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

I don't know who makes them though.

The big letters on the side say "RADIAL H/T PRODIGY"

The little letters around the rim say...
"RADIAL TUBELESS M+S M-342 M0342U-01 Treadwear 500 Traction A Temperature B"

Is someone out there less stupid than me? I can't find anything on google regarding these tires, I think maybe they are the OE tires for some car. OT 4ever Thanks

Doesn't sound familiar to me. Where did you buy them? Did you get them ONLY because they were cheaper than the others?

Yes I bought them because they were cheap and I probably will not keep the Jeep for more than 15k to 20k more miles. I bought them at a local garage

Receipt says part# is 34212 and description is "225/70/15 HTOWL 100S"

If you're not keeping the jeep for longer than that, then no worries...

Most likely, yo got what you paid for...cheap tires. With some luck, they MIGHT last that long. 4X4's are notoriously hard on tires.

No doubt they are cheap tires I was just hoping to find any info about them. Not often that you buy something and google doesn't come up with any info when you search a part number.

LOL @ 500 treadwear.

that's a seriously hard rubber compound, probably 80,000 mile tire or more.

Ridiculously hard.

OP, you should have saved a buck or two and just filled your old tires with cement and carved a "tread" into it.

Just be glad it's not the same name as the ones on my Prelude right now. It says in big ol' lettering - KUMHO. No kidding. 😱

Kumho is a pretty well known brand of tires. Many people think they're pretty decent tires. I have no experience with them, so I can't speak to their quality, but I'm not one to buy ANYTHING made in China if I have alternatives...
