I don't really know anything about spiders, but I saw this sucker hanging around on my way out this morning. Didn't have my camera with me, but I was able to snap an OK pic with my phone:

Idk but I had those things all over the outside of my house. I used a broom to relocate the ones I didn't want there but the other ones keep bugs away from my porch lights and such so I don't mind them.

Reminds me of a Cross Orb Weaver, but they are usually much darker, slightly different pattern I believe. Basically, some type of Orb Weaver.

In other words, even when I abhor spiders, these are the good guys. Orb Weavers are awesome (for spiders). They do a good cleanup job, and can be fun to watch them build large perfect "classical" webs between power lines and other big gaps around your yard.

Fuck having them inside, but outside they work their magic. Should be harmless for humans.

I used to wait for them to finish building their webs and set up to wait, then toss them a grasshopper to watch them ensnare the grasshopper in a cocoon.

This, like many spiders, has a nasty venom that makes you immediately shit your pants when you face plant into them, at least that's what happens to me when the bastards build their webs right across my front porch.

It's the type that reminds me of why I live in the north. :p

Though seriously if it was not for the icky spider webs, spiders would not bother me one bit, they actually look pretty cool.
