I'd say if it was streched out straight it was about 11-12 inches. It was on my front sidewalk last night when I took this picture, dead.

Just curious what it was.

possibly some kind of king snake or rat snake or corn snake, etc.

did it try to attack you? if not it probably is some kind of constrictor.

King Snake!! Thats one of the most poisonous snakes in the world!!
You better hope it doesnt bite you. Also, you'll probable want to burn all theland within a half mile radius of yourhouse to cleanse the area of any others.

^^ Now THATS a non serious response.

It is a well known fact that snakes can come back from the dead. Not only that, but if you cut them up, each piece will grow into a separate snake, and they will all form rings and roll after you, making escape impossible.

Yep, non-poisonous snake..
King snake is also known as Rat snake and corn snake and many other names... They can get pretty big, and even aggressive, but not harmful to humans.

Thats a Black Death Adder. Its venom liquefies organs, and makes your toenails fall off. Throw it on someone you dont like.

ah. my apologies to iron woode then. I saw the long list of possibles (king snake or rat snake or corn snake, etc, some kind of constrictor) and that didn't help me.

didn't realize that all of the listed (except the constrictor) were the same thing.

King snakes, rat snakes and corn snakes are actually all different snakes..... not different names for the same snake.....

And as noted above, king snakes are highly immune to rattlesnake venom, and dine on them when given the chance..

I wasn't sure which snake it was exactly, only that it looked familiar. So I gave a choice of what it might be. All of the non poisonous snakes are constrictors; they sufficate their prey.

They are different snakes, but related.

Corn snakes, rat snakes, fox snakes and milk snakes are the same snakes here. The king snake doesn't live here, but it is very similar.
