Dear RUSS STRINGHAM

I hate to inform you that your account
has been hacked on webcertificate.com and
ecount.com. These sites have very weak
security protection system and the database
with credit cards and other personal information
is not protected at all. Your personal details:

524 WEST MEEKER
KENT WA 98032 US

Your credit card information:

5537720000221345
expiration time: 11/12/02 10:15:04 PM

We offered them our help many times. But top
management of webcertificate.com and ecount.com
don't care about their customers - you. They
care only about their money.

Anybody seen this one? What are they hoping to accomplish - besides slandering a company? I've never had an account with either of those sites, and that CC# isn't even close to any of mine.

What kind of scam? A pretty stupid one.

Like Adul said, did you reply with a virus? Hopefully you did. ;)

Skoorb,

That's my business address which, of course, is pretty easy to get in any number of places.

Okay, just got off the line with them. I forgot that I'd signed up a couple years ago to get a friend some kind of referral bonus.:) Haven't been back to their site since. I guess they automatically assign some kind of mastercard-like number when you sign up.

Apparently, they were hacked and have sent notices out about it. I probably nuked them along with the rest of the spam I get.
