What kind of router?

Well, i'm currently deciding between getting a wireless or wired router...I would not be using the wireless part yet...but i plan on using it in the near future (maybe 1-2 years) when i buy a better laptop. Another reason why it's tempting to buy a wired router is because this particular router (DI-704UP) comes with a usb printer server.

There is also one thing troubling me, why do most wireless routers only have 54MBPS while almost all wired routers have more than 100MBPS. Does this make a difference to the speed (currently using ADSL).

I have found 3 routers and i'm not sure which one I should buy (recommend other good ones if there's any):

D-Link DI-704UP (Wired)
Linksys WRT54GL - 54MBPS (Wireless)
D-Link DI-624 - 108MBPS (Wireless)

Just get a wireless G router and turn off the wireless part until you are ready to use it. I usually don't like to get routers with print servers built in, but if you need it you need it. Your internet connection is the bottle neck, not your router speed, 54mb wireless 100mb ethernet >>> 512K dsl line so this has no bearing on your ADSL internet speed.

I'd get the linksys and then get a converter thing to turn your USB printer into a Network printer. Printer manufacturers make them and so does Linksys. If you don't use wireless, just turn it off like Rapidskies said.
