Hey guys, so recently a friend of mine sold me a 1GB stick of RAM he had laying around. He never used it, as he said it wasn't compatible with his old Intel Pentium4 setup. He said it was PC3200 DDR RAM, so I figured it would fit into my Foxconn 6150K8MA socket939 Athlon64 motherboard. However, when I got it, I have no idea what kind of RAM this is. All the PC3200 DDR RAM I've seen has 2 sets of notches on either side, and just ONE notch a little off-center on the contact edge. This kind has 2 notches on the contact edge, and just one set of notches on the sides. Any idea what kind of RAM this is? I don't think it fits into my motherboard by a simple eye-test, but if it should work, I guess I can try to force it in. I really need some RAM to get my desktop up and working again. If anyone know what kind of RAM this is, please let me know! It looks like this
EDIT: Also, the box says "KVR400X64C3A/1G", but the RAM itself has a sticker on it that says KVR400/1GR. I did a search on Kington's website, and after I inputed my motherboard brand and model (Foxconn 6150K8MA), it tells me to get "KVR400X64C3A/1G", so I should have the right RAM. Maybe at the factory, they put the wrong RAM stick into this box?! I really need some working RAM
. Any help and info is appreciated!
