Just got my annual raise. 4.7% or $4000. Figure that's not too bad considering the state of the economy.

Got a promotion too. Doing the same job just got kicked up to a higher band.

Congrats on the raise. :D

My last raise was 25%. I'm hoping for another 25% the next go-around, but I probably won't be looking at any raises after that for a while. :p (Student job)...

Hey, can you edit your post to get people to include thier job title? I'd be really interested to know.

Tech support...

It seems to fluctuate wildly depending on how scared mgmt is that we're going to lose this or that contract... :|
I'd say it average 4-6% bi-annually which is pretty nice actually. I was convinced we were in for a round of cuts this last time. but they surprised me :)

I work for IBM as a System Tech. been there for four years and I have gotten about 4% every year, but this time I didn't get jack $hit. IBM has really gone down the $hitter the past few months. Our stock was at 120 last December now it's under 80. I think they may be laying some peps off this summer, hopefully not me.

I've paid my dues - just finished my 17th year. I'm a Chemist by training but have done a variety of things ranging from synthetic chemist to product engineer. I've been developing coating formulations for the last 7 years or so.

Sweet, When are they coming out with a coating that you can spray on to doors handles, toilets seats, etc.. that will kill bacteria, germs, etc... ????
I not talking about Lysol, I mean a permanent one time application material.

I work in IT (Database Manager) for a non-profit company. I got 3.5% last year and will likely get between 3.5 and 4 percent this year...

I got a 2.5% raise and I work for a bank as a sr. software developer (web applications). It SUCKS! For the past five years I worked for a dot com I got between 8% and 17% each year. Of course I got a 25% raise to come work for this bank and I heard the other day that the dot bomb is sinking (laid off a couple dozen people). It all works out, but I'm hoping for a higher raise next year.

I'm a programmer. I got 4 or 5 percent after a year with the company. When I switched jobs I got around a 20 percent pay hike. The I switched again to work for myself, and I'm making about 75 percent more, but I have less job security and I have to pay my own health insurance, pension etc. It's nice because the harder and smarter I work, the more money I make, so I actually have some motivation. Also, it's nice when you can sell software you've already written, debugged, and have been paid to develop to a few different companies.

I haven't had a raise in 3 years. The company that I work for has been scaling back operations since they built their new, and oversized, building. Raises, bonuses, etc. have been suspended until further notice. :| :(

Needless to say, I'm looking for another job.

No raises here at all... but then again I am working part-time so I'm not really expecting too many raises.
