what kind of power supply is this?

There are enclosures out there that are made to run just 4 hard drives and that's it. I wanted to know what the actual name for that kind of power supply is and where could I find a relatively cheap one meant for old ide drives.

The power supply wouldn't need a mobo to be able to power on and i really don't want to hack apart an existing power supply

No hacking of the PSU is needed. All you need to buy is this $4 connector. Then you can splice that little red wire and ad a switch there to turn the power on as you need it. Or you can just wire a switch directly to the green and a black wire from the 20/24 pin main connector.
