What kind of music do you listen to while you work/study/create

I tend to be a fan of hip hop and rap while I work and study. It usually has a strong beat and lacks the volume changes of classical and the panning and tempo change of rock. I've got a couple of country albums I'll put on from time to time, but in general I stick to rap and hip hop.

How about you?

Persian classical. It helps to not understand any of the words, otherwise end up listening too closely instead of working.

Classical music, minimalist music (i.e., Philip Glass), certain electronic music, post rock (think Godspeed etc.).

i stick to local public music radio. it's pretty much random stuff - popular/local/old/new/etc.

i'd go crazy with the commercial classic rock stations

i don't like using my own playlist because i'm tempted to stop what i'm doing and hit 'next'

Ambient, space, post rock, classical, mellow jazz... Stuff without vocals. Really, that's what I listen to most of the time, but I take the heaviness down half a notch when I'm concentrating on something.

Oh yeah. Post rock. So much this. Editing my post now 🙂

I have a huge random selection ranging from classical to rock, I'm actually due to start updating it. I also have lot of "movie track" style stuff. And actual movie sound tracks. Two Steps From Hell is one of my favourites for this style of music.
