What kind of movie reviewer/watcher are you?

Do you just get involved in the story itself and not concern yourself too much with minute details? or do you nit pick at every little thing?

me, when i go to see a movie i just get lost in the experience and in general i enjoy most movies, even movies other people say are really really bad. my brother used to say there wasn't a single movie i didn't like. that's not entirely accurate, there are a whole slew of films i don't like, but in general i do enjoy most films as long as it as something of a plot, even if it is predictable.

oh, btw, i watched T3 today and it was pretty good.

I'm a highly cynical nitpicker who is always aware of efforts by the director to manipulate my feelings as an audience member.

As such, I think a lot of movies suck. :p

I'm not too critical when it comes to movies, except for comedies, where I would like something original and not just the normal boring tripe.

Depends on the movie. If it's not a sequel then I'll usually just enjoy it as much as possible, since there are no previous standards to live up to.

ya, i feel bad for you. you must spend a lot of money and end up regreting it. :)

like for eg. the T3 movie i just saw, typical of all time travel movies it had major paradox issues, SO what? it took nothing away from what the movie was, a stage where you can put a lot of violence, some cute special effects, a Hero and a hot babe on the movie screen.

what's NOT to like?

I'm exactly like you. People who pick apart movies based on "directing" and stuff like that annoy the hell out of me.

Inevitably, however, sequels like T3 will always be compared to their predecessors before them. T3 had things that make a great movie like what you stated above; however, the Terminator series has never been about cute special effects, comedy, or a hot babe. In it's own merits it's a good movie but in comparison to T2 or even the original, it is sorely lacking.

While this post started off with a promising premise (a perpetually dissatisfied moviegoer who nevertheless feels compelled to go to movies), I eventually grew tired of the lead character's predictable antics and found myself disappointed that there wasn't more evidence of his internal motivation. What could have shaped this mind to such a finely-honed cynicism? What could have possibly dulled the senses to such a point that he would be unable to enjoy a perfectly good mindless Cameron Diaz booty-shaking in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle?

What's worse, the potential so clearly established by a character with such a mindset to completely tear into the Hollywood mindscape like a zombie-inducing virus is never realized. Instead, we just get a reaffirmation of the plausibly established "movies suck", lacking even the showy pizazz of a "movies sUxX0rz", or perhaps the ironic condemnation "movies suck even more than I do".

I give this post :p :p out of 5.

Red Dragon had some poor editing.

There was a scene where Edward Norton and his wife and kid were all hugging. He hugs the kid, then his wife, and as his arms drops back to his side it hits the kid (gently) on the head. I think that was a mistake, because it didn't look like he was meant to hit him.

I can pick apart anything :p

I watched Identity last weekend and managed to work out who the killer was after the death of the guy who is in Scrubs' wife.

Watched Res Evil on DVD though, and it seemed pretty enjoyable.
Sometimes picking at the details is fun in a way, because you think "wow, they really need some help" and you can laugh at there mistakes.
