1984 GPz 900 Ninja. Kawasaki changed the bike to a 1000R in '85 in the US. They continued making the 900 outside of the US for a few more years after '84.

Heh.. I remember hanging out at a friends house back in the 80's. He had just received some junk mail from Kawasaki and I told him that I was looking at the '85 Ninja 1000. Anyway.. They had a little blurb in the sales text about the Ninja being the motorcycle featured in the new movie "Top Gun" with Tom Cruise. I remember it because we looked at each other and laughed at the name. Now.. Top Gun is part of our American pop culture.
